Field doctrine
How we approach every service call: diagnose in order, track the trend, and give customers straight answers about old equipment.
Troubleshooting doctrine: start at the beginning
Every system is two systems: one moves water, one moves electricity. Pick the lane, go to its head, and trace forward until it stops.
Preventative maintenance: the trend is the truth
Same readings, same way, every visit, so drift shows up on paper months before it turns into a dead system and an emergency call.
Repair or replace: reading end-of-life equipment
How to spot equipment that is past repairing, run the crossover math, and present a three-option quote honestly.
Equipment and installs
The hardware we put in and work on every week, and the order we install it in.
Valves: how each type works, and why we pick it
Gate, globe, needle, ball, butterfly and diaphragm: what moves inside, where you will find each one, and the habit that shortens its life.
Installing a residential under-sink RO
Utilities first, then tubing, then the system, then startup. Prove no leaks and automatic shutoff before you leave the house.
Water chemistry and dosing
What each treatment step does to the water, how we set doses and recovery, and how we prove it in the field.
Setting RO recovery: big systems vs. small systems
Recovery is the master dial. Match the projection on 8-inch systems; on 4-inch systems, start conservative and let the trends earn you more.
Antiscalant dosing: from lab report to a calibrated pump
The chain of custody for the dose: water analysis, Proton projection, ml/min conversion, pump setting, and graduated-cylinder check.
Chlorine disinfection: free vs. total, and dialing the dose
When disinfection is called for, free vs. combined chlorine, which one to test, contact time, and validating the injection rate.
Caustic soda adds sodium
Sodium hydroxide splits the instant it hits water. The hydroxide raises pH and gets used up; the sodium stays for good.
Polyphosphate doesn't make sediment
Polyphosphate is a sequestrant that keeps minerals dissolved, so it does not need a filter downstream. Our injection order covers the one exception.
Softener salt dose vs. capacity and efficiency
Capacity and grains per pound of salt by dose for standard 10% cross-linked resin. 6 lb/ft³ is the practical target.
